Erin Cook, Psy.D. (she/her) is a licensed psychologist in the District of Columbia. She is currently seeing clients in-person. She has experience working with clients across the age range. Dr. Cook works with clients, their families, and their support networks to provide comprehensive and thorough assessments. She is passionate about helping clients understand their assessment results, and giving clients and families the resources and recommendations they need to be successful.

Dr. Cook received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and child psychology from the University of Minnesota. Through her undergraduate work, Dr. Cook learned the importance of assessment within research contexts and established a strong foundational understanding of development across the lifespan. During graduate school, Dr. Cook earned both her M.S. and Psy.D. while honing her assessment skills by administering psychodiagnostic and forensic evaluations for Juveniles in the justice system. During her predoctoral internship in Massachusetts, Dr. Cook delivered therapy and psychological assessment for a population of children and adults living in poverty. This work deepened Dr. Cook’s understanding of the strengths and weaknesses in individuals, as well as the way that people interact with their communities. During her postdoctoral internship in California, Dr. Cook worked with patients on federal probation, or who were awaiting federal trials, while running a program. This enhanced Dr. Cook’s skills in communicating with various treatment providers and collateral contacts.

Over the past 9 years, Dr. Erin Cook has worked as a licensed psychologist in California and Oregon. She has become an expert in providing assessments for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Differences, and Giftedness. Outside of work, Dr. Cook enjoys spending time with her children and family, exploring the Smithsonian, reading, and writing poetry.
